it looks like a circus tent...

Sorry I've been neglecting this blog, I've not worked on anything new in ages, and the 'island project' is still taking a while. For now though, have a Majungasaurus:

Majungasaurus crenatissimus (Depéret, 1896)
Abelisauridae; Saurischia; Sauropsida; Chordata

I created this monstrosity for Draw a Dinosaur Day back in January, but completely ruined it with this colour scheme. Wasn't too proud of it, hence why I never mentioned it until now.

Maybe he stealthily entartained his unsuspecting prey, doing tricks until - WHAM! He tosses his clown nose aside and revels in slaughter!

clowns are scary guy! :P

i like him, except for the pattern going right down the leg. that's probably whats throwing you off. if he'd had a solid leg colour it probably would have had a less psychedelic look to it. you could probably fix it in photoshop.

the line drawing base is awesome though, and fits well with my current reading material. i finally picked up scott sampson's dino odyssey (and got it signed at the same time!), and the first chapter is all about Majunga... well whatever you choose to put after that :P

it was such a good drawing i recognized what is was just from the thumbnail in my blogger updates!

thanks! Yeah I realised too late while over-zealously colouring it in that it looked stoopid, but I know not to make that mistake again! But thanks for the compliments on the line drawing, I'm much more proud of that :o)
